Alex has a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA and a master’s degree in exercise science from The University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA.
She’s a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), group exercise instructor, and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT).
She’s also a foodie.
Her earliest memories are being in the kitchen with her mom: baking cookies, rolling pasta, and trying new recipes that her mom wrote down earlier that afternoon while watching The Frugal Gourmet. Decades later, Alex’s happy place is still in the kitchen — with her own babes on the counter.
Simply put, I believe excessive meat consumption is tough on our bodies and on the planet, and I’d like to help more people eat a plant-based diet. Also, people frequently ask me about plant-based protein and recipes. I want to help answer these questions!

I eat a predominantly plant-based diet and the recipes inside this guide reflect that. Most recipes are completely plant-based. Occasionally, I’ll include recipes with eggs or dairy. But 9.5/10 recipes are entirely plant-based.
